Sensory therapy, but on another level! Sensory therapy is now a well-known term within healthcare where particular rooms are often set up as a Sensory room to take a moment of rest during the day. With this project, Sensory therapy is put into practice differently.
This large hospital has a department specialising in dentistry. This policlinic receives amongst other people with mental disabilities. All the stimuli occurring in a waiting room and a treatment room can cause the patient becoming afraid or anxious to take a seat on the treatment chair, making it virtually impossible performing a correct treatment. The waiting and treatment rooms are changed into a Sensory experience, taking away these anxious emotions!
Nenko had the honour of realizing these two waiting rooms and two treatment rooms. By using interactive Sensory material in the waiting and treatment rooms, a subtle transition between the outside world, the waiting area and the treatment room is achieved. The subtle transition makes taking a seat in the treatment and waiting rooms less scary and creates a safe feeling for the patient!
The waiting rooms are equipped with various products from the Nenko interactive line, combined with our soft furniture. The comfortable furniture, combined with interactive lighting effects, allows fear to give way to comfort and relaxation. One of the two waiting rooms is equipped with our Nenko Interactive Sense System, which takes Sensory therapy to a whole new level!
In the treatment rooms, an LED colour wall washer and a set of 4 LED ceiling panels are used to continue to deprive the patient of the anxious emotions that often come with a visit to the dentist during the treatment. These two products also ensure the subtle transition between the waiting and treatment rooms, so the patient can safely join the treatment and leave the building again.
