The Sleep Tight blanket helps clients calm down and lie comfortably, promoting a good night's sleep. It is suitable for clients weighing more than 9 kg who have difficulty falling asleep. The blanket has a contoured recess to prevent accumulation at the face and stays in place when the person rolls or shifts in bed. The deep pressure on the body can provide relief for people with various conditions, such as autism, ADD/ADHD, dementia, spasms, severe behavioural problems, hyperactivity, relaxation problems (such as Huntington's and Korsakov), or anxiety and stress-related factors.
The weight of the blanket should usually be 15-25% of the person's body weight. It is recommended to seek professional advice on the suitability of this product for a specific client. Colours may vary.
Weight blankets are machine washable on a low temperature and they can be tumble dried on a low programme or air dried. Do not use bleach and check the capacity of your machine for larger blankets.
The size of the blanket is 106.5 x 91.5 cm and it is suitable for an age of about 4-5 years with a weight of about 16 - 20.5 kg.
Safe use of weight blankets:

- The weight of the blanket should be proportional to the client's physique and weight

- Use the blanket under the supervision of an occupational therapist

- Ensure that the client's head cannot come under the blanket

- Ensure that the client can always get out from under the blanket

- The client's vital functions should remain perceptible at all times.
